A new instrument gets its first price when you add it. Market hours follow each major exchange's own clock, daylight saving included, whatever your own time zone; public holidays are not modelled, so a market shut for a holiday can still show as open.

London quotes most shares in pence, Johannesburg in cents and Tel Aviv in agorot; the app converts each price to pounds, rand or shekels as it arrives, so those holdings are valued and counted in your totals.

   Fetched with your refresh

   Each price refresh fetches the exchange rates your holdings need, in one batch, and stores them on your PC.

   Stored between refreshes

   Screens convert with the most recent stored rate instead of asking the network each time. After a restart or offline, that stored rate is used for up to seven days.

   Dated where it matters

   A figure from the past converts at the rate stored for its own date, so a currency move is not mistaken for a gain or a loss.

   Traceable in Data Health

   Data Health shows where each rate came from, lists any date still missing one, and fetches it once. It is free on every plan.

A new profile picks its currency when it is created, pre-set from your Windows region, for both the portfolio and household money; either can be changed later in Settings. Capital-gains estimates follow the tax country you choose: Australia, the US, Canada, the UK, or a configurable European option. They are estimates, not tax advice.
